‘Bug’s Life’ appeals to adults, too

exception is that the ants are purple
and blue and have only two arms and
two legs, rather than the normal six
total limbs.
Although the ads for the movie
seem to infer that it’s aimed at chil
dren, adults will find that the film’s
light and uncomplicated humor is
more on their level.
The movie is a good getaway from
the usual actioaTomance/drama fod
der released during the holiday season
and will be one the entire family will
enjoy.
The comedy in the movie sways
more toward adults, while the plot of
the movie is easy enough for children
to understand. Like most Disney
movies, the plot is basic, and there is
undoubtedly a happy ending.
However, one thing that adults
may notice is that there are some
small holes in the story line that may
make a post-adolescent viewer ques
tion the story.
An example of this is the ant's
plan to scare the tyrannous grasshop
pers away. The plan may seem accept
able to the younger viewer, but older
viewers might question whether the
plan is really as effective as it’s made
to be believed.
One would think that since it’s a
two-hour movie, the story line would
be a little more clear and thoroughly
developed. Instead, about half an hour
is spent on insignificant and gratu
itous shots the movie could do with
out.
However, it's impossible to deny
