to provide tutoring and skill building activities for youth
of color in order for them to achieve school success.
Members will be placed at the Clyde Malone Community
Center, Hispanic Community Center, Good Neighbor
Center, Carol Yoakum Family Resource Center or
Northeast Family Resource Center. If selected,
AmeriCorps Members will complete 1,700 hours of
service in a twelve-month period beginning in December
1998. Members will receive a living allowance of
$8,340, health insurance and, if eligible, childcare. Upon
successful completion of service, Members will
earn an education award of $4,725 to be used to pay
for higher education or to repay qualified student
