It used to be that we as taxpayers didn’t need to know all of the ABCs of the potential tax laws, we just needed to find
someone who had the moral strength to represent the common Nebraska taxpayer. And I think we are fortunate to be here
today supporting a man who I feel has that moral strength. I really think Bill Hoppner realizes the importance of family
farms, of rural education and of rural Nebraskans in general. We’re very happy to be supporting him.”

“I think it’s a very important time right now to realize that the only way we’re going to get anything done is to get
someone like Bill Hoppner elected as governor of this state. With low commodity prices, there is no way we can survive.
In another year or two, a lot of farmers with our size of operations are going to be out of business and our small rural
schools are in real big, big trouble. We’ve got two more years in Lawrence, Nebraska to run our school and if something
doesn’t change, we’re going to close our doors. Then, what? It’s something that we really need to make the public aware
of. We need somebody in our government to straighten things out and to support the family farmers. When the farmers
make money, everyone makes money. When we go broke, the businesses in town go broke. It’s time to make some
changes. So, that’s the reason why we’re here today to support Bill.”
