The clones are coming in place of the original space surfers who are currently ’ working on a new album, tentative ly scheduled for release in February. Obviously an experiment like this is risky, to say the least, but Coco claims both clone tours have been going surprisingly well. “When people know exactly what’s going on they’ve been extremely receptive,” Coco said. “The only problem we’ve really had is when people show up and see what they think is a cover band and not realize that these are genet ic duplicates. “We’ve made some fliers and disclaimers because we’re not try ing to misrepresent anything or rip anyone off. We don’t need your earth money anyway.” However, everyone knows that clones can be sort of tricky at times. If the clones should glitch u We’ve made some fliers and disclaimers because we ’re not trying to misrepresent anything or rip anyone off. We don’t need your earth money anyway.” Coco Man or Astro-Man’s? bassist out and something disastrous hap pens - say they screw up a song — Coco has assured that “there will be disciplinary actions taken.” Upon the completion of the two clone tours, Coco said the clones would come home for a little rest and relaxation. “We’re going to be sealing the clones up in cryogenic storage,” Coco said. “We just wanted to make sure that we were going to be able to duplicate ourselves. Now we want to get them back into stor age before they get too cocky.” For the skeptical earthlings, Coco warns that the clones should n’t be ignored. He claims the show is more than just earth entertain ment; it’s a covert lesson in sur vival. “Just the knowledge of being part of such a ground-breaking experience is an opportunity that no one should miss,” Coco said. “Besides, this will be key in your survival when Man or Astro-Man? takes over the planet.” Tonight’s 21-and-over show begins at 10 p.m. Tickets are $6. Kinsey Sicks returns to Q for comical show SICKS from page 12 diem humorous, at least to most The group performs a variety of music, ranging from the sharply satirical to the touchingly emotional and, not surprisingly, the blatantly political. Friedman said the Sicks still planned to come back after their ini tial visits despite remarks Mayor Mike Johanns made last October concerning Lincoln’s homosexual community. Johanns last year refused to sign a proclamation that would have declared a designated Coming Out Day for the gay and lesbian commu nity in Lincoln and said he would not sign because of his own personal val ues. Friedman disagreed with the mayor’s stance. “Gays and lesbians are a vital part of the Lincoln community,” Friedman said. “There were a lot of people who were really upset about those com ments the mayor made” The Kinsey Sicks go so far as to advertise its show with a banner reading, “Return to Q Despite Edicts by Mayor Johanns.” Friedman added the audience, about half of which he estimated to be straight, likes the comedy because it is something different. “In San Francisco, where they are from, the things they do aren’t that shocking,” he said. “But here, it is so refreshing to hear rhetoric that is not geared to the straight, white middle-of-the-road male that we hear everywhere else around the city.” The Kinsey Sicks will perform tonight, tomorrow night and Saturday night at the Q. Tonight’s show is 19 and over, while the other two are 21 and over.
