Standards Design Engineer Standards Engineering Description: This position provides the required plan ning, technical analysis, engineering and design servic es necessary for the preparation and implementation of the Constructions Standards used for design and construction of the District's distribution system. It provides budget estimates, technical studies, periodic reports, technical specification for material purchase, and technical training to Engineering, Electric Operation and Customer Services Operations for proper ap plication of Construction Standards. Construction Standards must ensure the safe, reliable, economic operation and regulatory compliance of OPPD’s distribution system. Qualifications: To perform successfully in this position the incumbent must have a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent. Advanced courses in Engineering are highly desirable. The incumbent must have a minimum of four years experience in related work and through knowledge and experience with distribution system construction and materials. The in cumbent should also possess good oral and written communication skills. Registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of Nebraska is required.
