Huskers
earn wins
at meet
From Staff Reports
The Nebraska men’s and
women’s swimming teams came
away with three victories compet
ing in the U.S. National Team
Invitational over the weekend.
The Cornhuskers and Auburn
were the only two college teams
competing in the meet, which main
ly featured U.S. and international
swimmers.
Husker Anna Windsor won the
400-meter freestyle on Friday and
then won the 200-meter freestyle
on Saturday.
NU sophomore Adam Pine fin
ished first in the 100-meter butter
fly with a time of 55.45 seconds
while junior Valerjis Kalmikovs
won the 200-meter breaststroke.
Christine Troy placed second in
the 100-meter backstroke.
Former Husker and two-time
Olympic Gold Medalist Penny
Heyns also competed at the compe
tition in Auburn, Ala., and finished
second in the 200-meter breast
stroke.
The Husker men will compete
in a dual against Texas Christian
University on Thursday, and the
women will compete against
Southern Methodist University on
Friday.
