The following is a list of goals ASUN has set, and the progress it has made.
-ASUN sponsored Monday’s presentation by diversity speaker Marlon Smith. The speech, which
drew an estimated audience of more than 2,000 people, was called a “huge success’ by ASUN
President Curt Ruwe.
-AH govemfeg bodes are working with homecoming activities, Ruwe said. First Vice President Amy
Rager said residence hall participation with homecoming activities had risen this year.
—Members of the Campus Life Committee met with Tad McDowel, manager of University o< Nebraska
Lincofe Parking and Transit Services last week. Their proposal w* be presented to the Parking Adwsory
Cound Tuesday. Ruwe said a parking class could be inhaled by the beginning of the next school year.
-ASUN wffl meet with the Lincoln mayors office Oct24 where senators wi present their case for ,
increasing pedestrian safety on campus. ASUN is searching tor testimonials from people who have
been hit or otherwise affected by the dangerous traffic around Henrik Hal or the Campus Recreation
Center.
-New members of the Committee lor FeesAlocation have been going through an orientation process
with Kendal Swenson, chairman of the committee. Swenson also attended the UNL Dwerstiy Retreat,
where he sought student input regardhg the fees alocabon process, Ruwe said.
-The Student Impact Team is gathering student opinion regarcing a faJ break. Ruwe said a proposal
would be presented to the administration in a lew weeks.

—Ruwe said ASUN passed a bi in support of alowing organizations to be funded more oftea The
fundng change wl be voted on by the NU Board of Regents Friday. Ruwe said the bylaw change had
the support of student affairs officers from aSNU system schools. The support could mean the bytaw
change had a good chance of being passed by the regents, Ruwe said.
-Academic Committee Chairman Erik Hoegemeyer had at least one survey from each cotege, Ruwe
said. Hoegemeyer wH continue to gather student opinion on advising, which wl be a semester-long
project, Ruwe said.
