such as available actors and required
rehearsal time.
The event presents a unique oppor
tunity for not only the playwright, but
for the actors and audience as well.
“I think people don’t realize that
there can be people in Nebraska who
write,” Crabb said. “This event helps
people to realize that there are people
we pass everyday on the street who
have the ability to do something great.”
Working with an original script also
adds pressure to a cast and crew be
cause they do not have the previous
productions to rely on for interpreta
tion.
There can also be problems trans
ferring the play from page to stage.
“Some of the things that look good
on paper don’t sound good when they
come out of an actor’s mouth*’ Crabb
said.
Though the productions have been
challenging, the directors have enjoyed
experimenting with the various scripts.
“It’s been a joy conceptualizing this
script,” Holman said.
The shows run Thursday through
Saturday at 8 p.m and on Sunday at 2
p.m. in the Studio Theatre of the
Temple Building. Admission is $3.

an allusion to its desire to create a
new and dynamic sound transcend
ing current musical trends.
“We’re definitely that TV gen
eration, for the worse.” Didderich
said. “We have a song now called
‘Man in the Universe’—it’s about
Burt Reynolds saving the world.”
By bringing its vision of mod
ern music to Nebraska, Front of
Truck will headline an extremely
diverse and eventful evening.
Sponsors of the program include
Pepsi, Homers, Amigos, Pizza Hut
and Exotica who, among others, 1
will be distributing everything from
food to compact discs to hemp jew
elry.
Along with the variety of free
bies, volleyball will be available as
well as several raffles for prizes like
music and gift certificates.
Friday’s show will take place on
the greenspace north of Nebraska
Union from 3:30 p.m. to 9:30 pjn.
Admission is free.
In the event of rain, both the time
and place will change. The concert
will be postponed until 5 p.m. and
moved to Nebraska Union’s Cen
tennial Room.
