The Nebraska Women's Softball Team is coming on strong while I :i;v slow hi^down. Heim, who lost his leg in a boating •; ?>■' /7-.- 7 ■ : ^ ; . accident and now uses a prosthetic leg, will compete in the Ultimate Track and Field . Invitational in San Diego in April. At the Invitational, Heim will compete against the top disabled athletes in the nation to earn sponsorship for his trip to the ParaOlympics in Sydney, Australia, in the year 2000. Heim, who unofficially has record ed better times than the world record of 11,9 in the 100-meter dash, hopes to compete in the shot put, discus, 200-meter, and whatever else he can qualify for. Heim plays center on the UNL Wheelchair Basketball Team. He also enjoys lifting weights and playing the piano. CAMPUS CORRESPONDENT: BEN VETTER, JUNIOR seeking to prove to the new Big 12 South division how tough northern bats can be. Check out the Lady Cornhuskers as they face Baylor and Texas Tech April 12 and 14, respectively, at the NU Softball Complex. Game time is at noon for both dates.
