By Kasey Kerber Staff Reporter In the final meeting of its ad ministration, the 1996-1997 ASUN senate gave thagk$for sup port and passed several&ey pieces I of legislation. One such bill was Government Bill No. 20, which officially adopted the Code of Ethics ASUN President Eric Marintzer drafted. “I’m very proud of the Code of Ethics,” Marintzer said. “I think it’s a legacy for our admin istration and for our university’s ;£ TmM history.” ASUN also passed Govern ment Bill No. 19. The bill lent ASUN support to a $5 technology fee that would be distributed over two semesters instead of one for the 1997-1998 academic year. Marintzer said that the fee would be less of a burden if spread out over the course of a year. Senate Resolution No. 6, also passed unanimously, addressed the university’s inclement weather policy. The bill states that wind chill is not considered in the current in clement weather policy and that administrators should consider adding wind chill as a factor. Hands-on experience. Because now — one decade and one election victory later—Ruwe had finally accomplished what his dad had said would not be possible until he lis tened and thought before he spoke. “I hope now that students will find me a good listener,” he said, “and at meetings with administration, I will think before I speak.” Ruwe also said the keys to a suc cessful 1997-1998 ASUN would be dedication, pride and teamwork. Ruwe was administered the ASUN presidential oath of office by depart ing ASUN President Eric Marintzer Wednesday night at the Wick Alumni Center. Ruwe also was administered the oath of office for student regent by State Sen. Ramon Janssen, a friend of the Ruwe family in Hooper.
