Videotaped vows Film allows couples to redo 7 do ’ ByKaseyKerber Staff Reporter It’s the newest way to capture every moment of that special day... and be ableto hit the rewind button for relatwesto watch over and over again for their viewing pleasure. Videotaping services are quickly becoming popular for weddings— especially with young couples. Carol Ash, partner of Behind the Scenes Video, said new couples are more comfortable with videotaping weddings than bides- and grooms to-be of a generation ago. “They grew up in a time when video wasn’t in use,” she said. “It’s a new concept to handle.” But Ash said that the new tech nology and techniques used to cre ate a wedding video make it worth while. She said all videos from her com pany are shot on Super VHS tape, the same type of film used for tele vision. Wedding videos capture every moment of the special day, taking over wnere pictures leave on, Asn said. “How else can you actually see the wedding unfold before your eyes?” she asked. Once the decision to videotape is made, Ash said brides- and grooms-to-be should be careful. “A couple should be looking at what they’re getting for their money and the quality of the production,” she said. Videotaping services, Ash said, should use Super VHS tape and wireless microphones and have computerized video systems for editing. In addition, she said, the deci sion should be made with ample time for planning. “January and February usually get booked,” she said. “There are a lot of bridal fairs that go on during this time.” Ash said videotaping services are competitive with the prices of their packages, so thequality of the production should be considered. Her company offers packages in the $495-$775 range. <\find tfxe jiexfect wedding dxeie at 555 |fa Linden c^VsIria^a i IBuclafGuttsi (402)443-5377 t&l&ii “^JCoarti gilt (lincU’i $2gg.gg *JB^U^naiA JihA. r- *mUofA*!B*L 'H , tC f t i l. Forget flowers; music can make or break a wedding, which is why pro spective couples should check out Sparrow Records’ “Love Songs for a Lifetime: 30 great love songs.” Sparrow filled this two-CD set with song ideas for the big day. “Love Songs” makes a great resource, even if couples use live music. Sparrow sells many of these songs qs singles with accompaniment only, too. Traditional, inspirational favorites abound on “Love Songs” and are supplemented with popular hits. Con temporary Christian artists perform all of the songs. The Christian theme be comes obvious with traditional songs but is evident through the majority of tracks. And if a church only allows tradi tional music, many “Love Songs” qualify. Some examples are “The Lord’s Prayer,” “Answered Prayer,” “Parent’s Prayer” and “Wedding Prayer.” If that’s not enough, try “God Causes All Things To Grow,” “Stand ing In The Son” and “Song of Recon ciliation.” More contemporary songs also ap pear in “Love Songs,” like Steven Curtis Chapman’s “I Will Be Here.” Though most of the easy-listening “Love Songs” are appropriate for the ceremony itself, some up-tempo pieces fit the reception better. Songs by art ists BeBe and CeCe Winans, Phil Keaggy and Michelle Pillar and Bob Carlisle fall into this category. Resist the urge to toss out all things cheesy after the wedding and keep this CD set around. Steven Curtis Chapman’s “Go There With You” gives couples a song for a vow renewal in future years. —EaHyWray Diamond Education! & We educate students by explaining the different grades of diamonds and how this grading is done.
