They manage to take the qualities of vastly different genres and sculpt the melodies, harmonies and vocal delivery into something they can call their own. As members of Talking Heads, Chris Frantz, Jerry Harrison, and Tina Weymouth comprised the most important rhythm section of any CBGB's-era band.
