(beginning September 9) An Outreach Event During Mental Illness Awareness Week Supports! in part h> an educational icrant from Eli ially and Company * De La Soul • •. r:; • delimits crowd SOUL from page 9 The songs off “Three Feet High” drew much applause because they were easiest to sing along with, especially De La Soul’s first big hit, “Me, Myself andL** The band finished the show with other songs off of “Stakes*” including a “Stakes is High/The Bizness” med ley. The last song was “Kg Brother Beat,” an upbeat track that ended the show on a positive note. The opening act, the Goodie Mob, didn’t exactly live up to their name. They appeared promising when they took die stage because, unlike most rap groups, they played live instruments. The only problem was the Goodie Mob lacked die skills to play the instruments well. On a positive note, the Granada was a great place to have the show. A little larger than the Ranch Bowl in Omaha, it was the perfect size to display De La Soul’s talents. Overall, this was a great show. De La Soul easily made up fa* the Goodie Mob and delighted the crowd. They are true performers, and although Monday was the final show on De La Soul’s tour, I definitely recommend attending a show the next time they tour through the Midwest.
