The portrayal in that movie, how ever, is a far cry from the truth, Beth Alberts said. Alberts is a wedding coordinator from Special Moments Wedding and Party Shop, 4848 Nor mal Blvd., in Lincoln. wnen people asic me aoout con sulting, I don’t take charge like Franc,” Alberts said. “I like to go through the things they’re interested in and work from there.” Alberts can advise the bride about caterers, bakeries, photographers, music and flowers. But most people like to do a lot of that themselves, she said. “People are more interested in hir ing me for the actual wedding day,” she said. On that day, a lot of brides don’t have time to decorate the reception hall and make sure everything, such as the cake and flowers, is where it should be. Alberts said that was where she could come in handy. “I’m a part of everything, but not actually a part of it such as family as. concerned. I can helpeverything work out really comfortably.” Usually Alberts charges 30 dollars an hour for her time. When it comes to doing the entire wedding, such as ar ranging the flowers and providing fur ther consulting, she works out a dif ferent rate. “My job is mainly to be here to answer questions and give advice,” she said. “The biggest advantage is that you don’t have to worry whether it Will get done or not. It will.” Alberts spends a lot of her time with mothers of brides, who often find themselves running very short on time.
