It’s funny. Everywhere I look, that is the verdict I see — O.J. found innocent by a jury of his peers. No, I don’t think so. O.J. is NOT innocent; he was found NOT GUILTY. A not guilty verdict does not equal innocence. It is ironic how our judicial system works on this play on words. You are innocent until proven guilty. But, in a court of law, you are not found innocent — you are found not guilty. O.J. was found not guilty due to the prosecution not being able to present sufficient evidence in the case. O.J. IS guilty. He committed many crimes: wife abuse, fleeing (referring to the white bronco), being able to provide a more than adequate defense, and being married to white Woman. Oh the crimes! But who among you can be the first to throw the stone? Not me... I’m guilty too... Guilty in believing that justice has been served; whether we agree with the verdict or not. Stacy L. Johnson Lincoln via e-mail the/rag.com I like that you guys are on the WWW. I am from Omaha and am now a student at Duke University. Your sports coverage is great for this Husker fan. Mitch Sherman’s coverage and opinions are superb! Eric Givner Omaha via e-mail 4). Karl, what color is YOUR world? In your column you claim the GOP is “running away from... moral mat ters” and instead is “focused on free trade and economics.” Karl, Karl... someone shake Karl! Thanks. Karl, the GOP has always been focused on free trade and economics, using moral matters as a straw don key to torch when liberty gets in the way of industry. You say we need to return to the old days when Republican tradition alists “believed our problems stem, not from lack of goods, but a poverty of soul.” How old are you, twenty? Karl, take my advice and stop skip ping Political History. Rand Douthit Graduate Sociology BretGottschall/DN tional Organization of Women and the University of Nebraska’s Women’s Center “raining” on the Nebraska/Washington State football spirit. The Daily Nebraskan indicated that these women were wearing white to support women victimized by foot ball players. ALL football players? How unfair to the team! Have all the victimization incidents at UNL been done by football players? I think not. Sister Mary Hlas Omaha Word choice criticized The Daily Nebraskan should be ashamed of itself. Jason Racey wrote a letter about the threat of the country being controlled by conservative Christians. While I do not share his view of the situation, I thought he expressed himself clearly and thoughtfully. He never sank to the level of name call ing. Above this thoughtful letter, how ever, was the heading, “Christian Reich.” Now, Mr. Racey never called con servative Christians a bunch of Na zis. So why would the Daily Nebras kan use such a slanderous and pejora tive heading and in the process, grossly mischaracterize his letter? And what basis does the Daily Nebraskan have for suggesting that there is any comparison to be drawn between American citizens who hap pen to be conservative Christians exercising their political rights and one of the most heinous and geno cidal governments ever to rise to power? wnoieiona snakin’ nu second 10 nun I have a question for Jamie Karl As a Nebraska football fan, I was Love Library (“Christian politicians right on” Oct. upset to find women from the Na- via e-mail Send your brief letters to: ID the* Daily Nebraskan, 34 ^ ^ Nebraska Union, 1400 R St., -- Lincoln, Neb. 68588, or Fax to (402) 472-1761, or email cletters @ unlinfo.unl.edu.> —-- Letters must be signed and I Nebraskan S£*.shon8numt8,,0,
