I Joslyn to display addition From Staff Reports College students who haven’t yet checked out the new addition to Omaha’s Joslyn Art Museum will have extra incentive to make a visit this Friday. College Night, a free event for college students and faculty with university identification, is sched uled for 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. The general public may also attend the event, but will have to pay the regular admission fees of $4 for adults and $2 for senior citizens and children ages 5-11. The event will begin at 7 p.m. with a screening of “The Mystery of Picasso” in the Witherspoon Concert Hall. This award-winning film tells the story of Pablo Picasso’s career. Guided tours of the museum and its exhibits will be offered throughout the evening, beginning at 7:15. The first tour will take participants through “Face-Off: The Portrait in Recent Art,” a col lection of contemporary works cur rently housed in the Scott Pavilion. The second tour, “The Sleep of Reason: Reality and Fantasy in the Print Series of Goya,” will begin at 8 p.m. in the Joslyn Memorial Building. At 8:30 p.m., live entertainment will be provided by the Bob Bordy Blues Review in the ConAgra Atrium. Door prizes will also be distributed at this time. Pizza and refreshments will be made available in Le Cafe Durham, which is located in the atrium. Simpson Continued from Page 9 Larry Walklin, a broadcasting pro fessor, said the filmmakers were free to tell Simpson’s story, but their free dom was limited. “Anyone who wishes to can pro vide a particular point of view,” Walklin said. “But here you’re in a situation where you can’t present prejudicial information as fact.” If the movie suggests that Simpson is guilty and the jury decides he is innocent, the filmmakers could be guilty of slander. Walklin said it would be different ifthe movie were presented as fiction. “They would have to say that the movie is not representative of all the facts,” he said. “One of the things that will probably happen is the movie will not come to any specific conclu sion.” Broadcasters and filmmakersmust follow the same rules as “someone standing on a street comer saying something about someone else,” Walklin said. Susan Jacobs, an assistant crimi nal justice professor, said there was no real risk from the movie being i shown before the trial was over. But, she added, there would hav< been some problems if the show woulc have aired before the jury had beer sequestered. “Lord knows you’d have an enor mous risk without semiabstraction,’ she said. Showing the movie before the trial’s verdict may be legal, but man} have questioned whether it is tasteful Javad Eskandarpour, a philoso phy graduate student, said the shov should be viewed as entertainment not news. “I think the movie will be strictb for popular consumption,’ Eskandarpour said. Mitch Gonzales, a senior biolog} major, said he was tired of hearinj about the Simpson story. “It’s been publicity overkill,’ Gonzales said. Eskandarpour said people were jus trying to profit from the trial, and tha he wouldn’t watch the show. “I have to see evidence,” he said “The movie will be more hearsay an< rumors and all those things.” But Gonzales said he would watcl at least a little bit of the movie. “From what I’ve seen about it, i looks kinda funny,” he said. -, 180 Printing & Copying 1 - 182 Recycling 02 Appliances 183 Religious 05 Bicycles 185 Rentals 10 Books 188 Tanning 13 Clothing 190 Tattooing 16 Computere 193 Travel 20 Furniture 195 Typing & Resumes 30 Jewelry 40 Misc.
