Continued from Page 1 “When they’re discussing the trag edy, you would expect him to look crushed and crestfallen,” said Levenson, who surmises that Simpson is being coached. “If he does some thing and it doesn’t look real, the jurors will say, 'The prosecution was right. He’s an actor.’” The defense will walk a fine line in reminding the jury that this is O.J. Simpson, the famous athlete, celeb rity and movie star, while projecting the image of a somber, mature man wrongly accused of murder. At times, Levenson said, viewers and jurors could expect to see “a lopk on his face like, 'I can’t understand why they’re doing this to me.’” Simpson’s lawyer Johnnie Cochran Jr. has represented pop star Michael Jackson on child molestation allega tions, former Cleveland Browns foot ball great Jim Brown on rape and assault charges, actor Todd Bridges on attempted murder, rapper Tupac Shakur on a weapons charge and Snoop Doggy Dogg on murder. Police chase ends in arrest of susnect By Brian Sharp Senior Reporter A police chase through campus Saturday night ended when offic ers apprehended a man with four* warrants out for his arrest. University of Nebraska-Lincoln Police Cpl. Ron Lundy said offic ers had attempted to stop Harry Tapp for a traffic violation. When he was finally pulled over several blocks later, officers found there were four warrants out for his ar rest. Police first tried to stop Tapp at 16th and Vine streets after he ran a red light, Lundy said. Tapp chose not to pull over, and a chase began. The pursuit continued on Vine Street, then down 14th Street to W Street. Tapp then turned right and continued on W Street to 16th Street, and returned to the inter section of 16th and Vine streets. Tapp then headed east on Vine Street, and was eventually appre hended at 25th and Lynn streets, said Sgt. Bill Manning. Manning said three police cars in all were sent to the area. The chase involved only one officer, he said, and the other two were there for support. Lundy said that when Tapp was pulled over, officers found he was wanted on two counts of posses sion of marijuana and drug para phernalia and two counts of failure to appear. Manning said Tapp was taken to Lancaster County Jail, where he is being held on the four warrants and one count of fleeing to avoid arrest. Tapp is scheduled to be arraigned today. Anti-Abortion Continued from Page 1 to convince groups that were tradi tionally abortion-rights proponents, Democrats and non-Christians, that it was “OK to be pro-life.” “Let us renew our commitment to reverse a 21-year tragedy,” Lindsay said. “Let us look forward to a day where we can say that abortion no longer kills children.” On a bitterly cold morning, more than 4,000 people turned out for the walk, which went from the west side of the Nebraska State Capitol at 14th Street and Lincoln Mall to the Federal Build ing at Centennial Mall and Q Street. The column of ralliers extended more than four blocks as it walked through downtown streets. Walkers were mostly silent and carried signs with messages such as “Stop abortion now,” “Nurses for Life” and “Face it: Abortion kills.” When the walk stopped, marchers gathered at the Federal Building. While listening to more speakers, Jill Cox of Lincoln said she agreed with the view Sen. Lindsay talked of earlier. With a clinic that would perform abortions planned for Lincoln, Cox said those against abortions needed to band together in opposition. At the Nebraska Union, where the march ended, Attorney General Don Stenberg said recent news stories of mothers killing their children shocked everyone. He said, however, that if these mothers had abortions, there would not have been much outcrv. Stenberg said the state was carry ing out a lawsuit against against the Clinton administration. He said the president issued an edict that required states to pay for abortions in cases of rape, incest or danger to the mother. Protest Continued from Page 1 happening,” she said. “They’re di rectly responsible by their rhetoric.” ' Words such as “baby killer,” yelled at mothers going into Planned Parent hood for counseling or birth control, were meant to intimidate and-inflame, she said. Jeanne McClymont of Lincoln also blamed the anti-abortion marchers for violence in recent months, saying “in citing a crime is a crime.” The anti-abortion demonstration took place at 14th and Lincoln Mall, op the west side of the Capitol, across the street from the Walk For Life there was confrontation be tween the two sides, it usually in volved Dan Schmidt of Lincoln. Schmidt was one of the more vocal members of the abortion-rights group when anti-abortion activists crossed the street. Men were to blame for many of the unwanted pregnancies that resulted in abortions, Schmidt said. Men are “lost in their sexuality,” he said,.and in an image that casual sex is cooi.
