Going into his team's final tuneup
before its season opener Nov. 25, all
Nebraska men’s basketball coach
Danny Nee is looking for is improve
ment.
The Cornhuskers play their final
exhibition game against the Russian
Red Army-Air Force basketball club
at the Bob Devaney Sports Center
tonight at 7:30.
“The whole idea of these exhibi
tion games is to try and improve,"
Nee said. “However, it’s hard to mea
sure against this type of competi
tion.”
Nebraska defeated Vcrich Reps
117-101 in its first exhibition game
Nov. 4.
Nee said the team had kept a good
attitude over the 11-day layoff.
“No matter how practice goes, it
gets boring,” Nee said. “They’ve
been relentless and worked very hard. ”
The Russian Red Army-Air Force
basketball club is 1-3 as of Nov. 15 on
its eight-game exhibition tour.
They have lost at Illinois-Chicago,
108-93, at Fort Hays, 90-85, and at
Northwest Missouri State, 77-68 on
Monday.
The club's only win was an 84-81
victory at Northern Illinois.
The Russian Red Army-Air Force
basketball club plays at Ncbraska
Kcamcy Nov. 15 before taking on the
Huskcrs.
‘TVo matter how practice
goes, it gets boring.
They've been relentless
and worked very hard."
DANNY NEE
Nebraska basketball coach
The Huskcrs will have a change in
the starting lineup as Chris Sallee
replaces Mikki Moore at the center
position.
Nee said the move was to give
Sallee more playing time, not to bench
Moore.
“We’re still experimenting,” Nee
said. “I feel that at the center position,
it is important we establish some re
bounding."
Against Vcrich Reps, a team-of
former college players, Nebraska was
out-rebounded 41-40.
Nee said the other four starters,
Jaron Boone, Erick Strickland,
Melvin Brooks and Terrance Badgctt
will remain the same from Nebraska’s
first exhibition game.
Nee said exhibition games also
gave newcomers to the Nebraska
squad a chance to play.
“It’s good experience for them,”
Nec said. “Playing in front of the
crowd and officials really helps.”

coin.
“Sometimes things could have
gone our way, but they didn’t,” she
said. “I don’t think it got out of hand,
our team was together most of the
night.”
Saindon believes the undefeated
and top-ranked Huskcrs can be de
feated, ev en though the Huskcrs swept
the Buffs earlier.
“Absolutely,” Saindon said. “In
Boulder, if we play like we did in
game two, I think it is a pretty even
match, and 1 like our chances."
Also liking the Buffaloes’ chances
at home is junior quick hitter Leah
Williams.
“It will be two teams up against
each other,” she said. “I think we
have a really good chance at beating
them just like we did last year.”
