Kendra Marshall of Lincoln was reported missing by her brother after a family excursion to Johnson Lake, which is near Lexington. Marshall, 23, whose hometown isCozad, was a first-year law student last semester but was taking a semester off. Her roommates told the Daily Nebraskan Wednesday night Marshall planned to return to UNL to study speech pathol ogy in the spring semester. Lincoln Police Lt. Kent Woodhead said Wednesday night Marshall could be lost, kid napped or she may have run away. Marshall’s roommates, however, said they had a bad feeling about her disappearance. “I think something bad’s happened.” said Timmarree Brown, oncof Marshall’sroommates, “just because 1 don’t think she would have not contacted someone. “We’ve talked to everyone.” Marshall’s roommates said she had left the lake about 9 p.m. Sunday to make the drive to Lincoln, which is 160 miles via Interstate 80. Brown, one of Marshall’s roommates, said Marshall had to be at work at Barnes and Noble Monday morning. “As far as we know, she left for Lincoln,” Brown said. Leaving at 9 p.m., Brown said, Marshall could have arrived in Lincoln within three hours. Brown said Marshall's family asked their daughter to stay overnight in Cozad, which is about 15 miles from the lake. But Kendra Marshall said she had to get to work. Brown said. Michelle Shurr, Marshall’s other roommate, said Barnes and Noble called Monday night and left a message that Marshall hadn ’t showed up for work. Shurr said she also received a message Tuesday morning. The roommates said it was unlike Marshall to go somewhere without telling anyone. They said they are discouraged because it’s been three days since she should have arrived in Lincoln. ‘The bad part is if she left Sunday, we didn’t start looking until Tuesday,” Brown said. The roommates said the Lexington police department used a helicopter Tuesday to view Johnson Lake. An official with the department was unsure of the case’s progress. Marshall was described as 5 feet, 6 inches tall, of medium build and having short blond/yellow hair. Her roommates said she has blue eyes, fair skin and wears contacts. The roommates said Marshall drives a blue Honda Accord with Lancaster County license plates. They said she has a Hastings College alumni sign lining the plate. Witek Continued from Page 1 residency question in early July. He asked the Republican Party to deal with the matter in July and August, but he filed his own challenge when they failed to take action. “It became obvious that nothing was going to be done,” Eurek said. ‘To me, that cloud over her head is one that ought to be removed.” Bccrmann said he first heard about the matter in the newspapers. Witek, whose husband had stumbled upon the possible residency question, issued a press release about the matter in July and contacted Bccrmann. Bccrmann said he researched the matter and believed Witek had intended to establish her "It became obvious that nothing was going to be done. ” ■ ALLAN EUREK Democratic Secretary of State Candidate residency in October. But that opinion was not lied to any formal hearing, Beermann said. Witck said she thought that had settled tlx: matter. “As far as I’m concerned, a decision was made ... that everything was fine,” she said. “The only person that keeps bringing this up is Mr. Eurck.” I ... ...
