If you’re in the dark about
things like safer sex and
sexually transmitted diseases,
you better brighten up.
Did you know that there are
over 30 sexually transmitted
diseases? Most of them are
relatively easy to treat if
diagnosed early, but AIDS is a
killer! The only sure way to
prevent these diseases is
abstinence, but that’s your
choice.
So before you get hurt, get
smart. Come to Planned
Parenthood. We'll teach you all
about safer sex and provide
you with testing and treatment
of sexually transmitted dis
eases.
Now we know you may be a
little nervous about coming in.
You’ll find we’re caring, under
standing and sensitive. We’ll
help you feel comfortable and
secure and answer all your
questions in plain, straight talk.
We're affordable and everything
is confidential.
Make the smart choice.
Come to Planned Parenthood.

previous recordings.
It’s not surprising that Lillian
Axe has been compared to
Queensryche.
With this, their most socially
conscious album to date, the boys
raise the eyebrows of rock critics
everywhere. They cover topics such
as suicide on “Now You Know.”
Blaze asks in the liner notes,
_ “Why is it that suicidal people are
only understood and sympathized
with after they cross the line of no
return?” Taylor’s voice shines on
this song, showing how deeply he
feels about this subject.
They also acknowledge the state
and trendiness of music these days
on “Sign of the Times.”
“Music should be art and ex
pression, not a fashion trend. Stay
true to what you feel and don’t
become a chameleon, changing
your colors just to blend in with
what the people around you do,”
Blaze says in the liner notes.
While Lillian Axe stays away
from sappy, radio-happy songs, it
does perform a touching, simple
ballad entitled “The Day I Met
You.” With only Taylor’s soulful
voice and a single guitar, the song
may be compared to Extreme’s
“More Than Words.” However,
there is no easy, sing-along chorus
to go with it.
Lillian Axe is a band to be reck
oned with. It is hoped someday the
band will be noticed.

Foreigner
“Foreigner: Classic Hits Live”
Atlantic Records
Foreigner made its debut in 1977
with two hits (“Feels Like the First
Time” and “Cold as Ice”) from its
self-titled album, which went qua
druple platinum. During the next
decade, Foreigner displayed re
markable consistency and staying
power despite personnel changes
in the late 1970s.
“Classic Hits Live” collects all
the monster hits from the early
days, with a few later tracks thrown
in. Most — “Dirty White Boy,”
“Double Vision” and “Head
Games” — were recorded on the
band’s fall 1979 tour. Later hits,
such as “Waiting for a Girl Like
You” and “I Want to Know What
Love Is,” were done on the 1985
tour.
Perhaps the biggest reason to
buy this collection is for three songs:
“Fool for You Anyway,’’“Not Fade
Away” and “Love Maker.”
__ “Classic Hits Live” is an ideal
present for the Foreigner fan in the
house or the unrepentant ’70s nos
talgia buff.
