trenches.
“The thing you have to do is
establish the line of scrimmage,
Dykes said. “It’s extremely difficult.
They really are big.”
Dykes said he didn ’ t think Nebraska
would be affected too much by the
injuries to Calvin Jones and
quarterback Tommie Frazier.
“They’re deep,” he said. “They put
a guy (Brook Berringer) in there, and
he was prolific in throwing the
football. They’ve got good backups at
all their positions.
“We ’ ve got to play the best we can,
play to our best level. Everything is
bigger and stronger and faster th an we
saw last Saturday. And there’s a whole
lot more of them.”
HUSKER NOTE
Nebraska coach Tom Osborne said
that starting quarterback Tommie
Frazier continues to recover from an
ankle sprain. Frazier took part in most
of the practice, but left Five minutes
early because of soreness. “He d id
pretty well,” Osborne said. It looks
like he’ll be able to play. Whether or
not he ’U be able to start, I don’t know.
Nebraska l-back Jeff Makovicka heads downfieid during
