Mexican prejudice damaging to Mexican pride
Lost Sisters
Where arc you my sisters,
In this strange world?
When I speak,
I hear only my words.
I am of the old,
Customs, traditions and beliefs
Let me know where you are
It would be a relief.
So many are different now,
Try to be other than Mexican,
I am not ashamed
Of who I am.
1 will fight,
For the true Mexicans,
F;or no one can change me,
Try if you can.
Do you see that you are lost?
, You embarrass us!
Say you are of else,
You can’t say you’re us.
I write this in English
Because that’s all you speak.
You don’t care for Spanish,
But with others that’s all they seek
You may look like me,
But I know I’m true.
With pride I can say Mexican 100
percent
I know you can’t because you are
you.
You can’t hide who you are,
But just pretend.
We won’t acknowledge you,
As sister or friend.

What’s All This Identity Crisis?
Damn! How much il hurts,
to be a majado, an illegal, an
alien,
an undocumented, a Mexican
jumping
bean, a wetback.
Damn! How much it hurts,
to be a cholo, a stuit suitor,
a greaser, a spic, a pachuco,
a homey.
Damn! How much it hurls,
to be a coconut, a back-stabber,
a sellout, a whitewashed,
a token, a Hispanic.
Damn! How much it hurts,
to be a Mexican, an American,
a Mexican-American, a Chicano,
a Latino, a Chicano-Latino.
Damn! 1 low much it hurls,
to be all these for my Raza.
But never a HUMAN!
