Etheridge Continued from Page 12 mimicked those on her albunjs. However, she threw in enough variations to make the show fresh and fun. The most notable of these deviations hap pened during the rocker, “Must Be Crazy for Me.” Etheridge and her four bandmates performed a drum interlude—that’s right, five musicians, 10 drumsticks and one set of drums — and it sounded great. And as if that weren’t amazing enough, they then look their drumsticks and played them on the strings of Kevin McCormick’s bass guitar while he played the fingerings. The band did something else that is virtually unheard of among big-name musicians: They played new, unrecorded songs. These included “Yes I Am” and “Change.” Etheridge returned to the stage for two en cores, the second of which she performed alone. During this solo encore, Etheridge played “The Letting Go” on piano by the light of a single fringed lamp that hung above the piano. It was as though the audience got an intimate glimpse of Etheridge as she might appear dur ing her personal time. In parting, Etheridge promised to return to Nebraska soon — hopefully, she won’t make her fans wait another two years. Muppets Continued from Page 12 the subtle humor will be just as hilarious Ipr the adults. Directed by Brian Henson*(son of the late Jim Henson, who died in 1990), “The Muppcl Christmas Carol” is the fourth Muppet feature film in the past 14 years. With the death of Jim Henson in 1990, a search began for a new voice for Kermit the Frog. This voice was found in Steve Whitmire, who also provided the voices for Rizzo the Rat, Beaker and others. This film also marks another first; Michael Caine’s singing debut. No, it’s not a joke. Caine sings solo for the film’s finale. Other returning Muppct voices include Dave Goclz (The Great Gonzo, Bunsen Honeydcw), Jerry Nelson (Robin) and the legendary Frank Oz (Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear). The film also features terrific special effects for both the Muppcts and Caine’s excursions with the different Christmas ghosts, as well as some great songs from Academy Award-win ner Paul Williams. After a hard day of Christmas shopping or comprehensive finals, go see “The Muppct Christmas Carol.” You won’t be sorry. $3 00 per day for 15 words on individual student and student organization ads. $4 00 per day for 15 words on non-student ads. $.15 each additional word $.75 billing charge. KEEP FOR YOUR PERMANENT LIBRARY THOSE BOOKS THAT WILL HAVE FUTURE REFERENCE VALUE. THE USED BOOK BUY-BACK PROGRAM — is offered to you as a service and a convenience to concert your unwanted books to CASH. BOOKS THAT YOU DO NOT WANT TO KEEP Our policy is to buy college textbooks that a student decides are no longer needed or wanted and for which there is a resale market. If the instructor informs the bookstore that he/she will require a book for the forthcoming school term, the bookstore will pay 50% of the current list price (regardless of whether you bought the book new or used) unless the store already has an adequate supply. THE INSTRUCTOR, NOT THE BOOKSTORE, DETERMINES WHICH BOOKS ARE REQUIRED. BOOKS NOT NEEDED BY THE BOOKSTORE As an additional service and convenience for the students, we are providing a market through the largest iktional used book company for the books not needed on this campus. The prices paid for these books are determined by the national supply and demand — some books have no resale value. WHEN TO SELL — The sooner after each term that you sell your books the better your chance of receiving 50% — because it is at this timcol the year that our inventory is most depleted and the time we are receiving orders for the next term. By the time classes of a new term start, we cannot pay 50% because we already stocked the book in adequate quantity. Thanks to you, WHEN YOU SELL YOUR BOOKS...
