I Wilhite makes return
to practice Thursday

Nebraska football coach Tom
Osborne and the Comhusker defense
received a pleasant surprise Thursday
ascomerback Kenny Wilhite returned
to practice.
Wilhite, a senior, pulled a ham
string during practice Tuesday.
Coaches said earlier this week that
they did not expect Wilhite to practice
or play in Nebraska’s second game
against Middle Tennessee Stale Sat
urday.
Junior strong safety Ernie Beler
remained sidelined with a sore ankle,
and Osborne said Beler would likely
not play Saturday. Beler also missed
Nebraska’s opener against Utah.
The only other Nebraska injury is
to senior strong safety Steve Carmer,
who has a sore ankle.
Osborne said he was pleased with
the Cornhuskcrs’ health two weeks

In the early morning hours of Monday, August 24, Hurricane Andrew
devastated a huge swath of Dade County, Florida, in the region just
south of Miami.
The catastrophic result: 63,000 homes destroyed, close to 300,000 left
homeless, losses of more than $20 billion.
It was the costliest natural disaster in American history.
Now, the people of Miami and Dade County are digging out, caring for
