Hughes
Continued from Page 8
Hughes now is nursing a sore
shoulder, the same one he injured
in the Florida Citrus Bowl on New
Year’s Day.
“I just want to have a good sea
son and keep improving,” Hughes
said. “Of course it would be nice to
be All-American, but first things
first”
As far as the team’s attitude
goes, Hughes said, he feels this
year will be different than last year.

I’m not saying well
pass more than well
run, but we will pass
when we need to.
Tyrone Huges

“After the Colorado game, we
really came apart as a team,” he
said. “This year, I feel we’re more
unified and if we can stick together
even in the tough times, we should
prosper in the end.”
Football network adds stations
From Staff Reports
The Nebraska Football Network
has added two out-of-state stations,
bringing this year’s national total to
44 stations, according to Kent Pav
clka, the “Voice of the Comhuskers”
on the network.
Pavelka, who also serves as sports
director and operations manager at
network flagship station KFAB in
Omaha, said the new stations arc KBBT
in Portland, Ore., and WRPX in
Hudson, Wis., serving the Minneapo
lis-St. Paul area.
The network now reaches metro
politan areas such as Phoenix, Dallas,
Houston, Los Angeles, Las Vegas,
Denver and Portland.
The network includes 32 stations
in Nebraska and bordering cities in
Iowa and South Dakota.
Pavelka said that although the
number of stations is down one from
the all-time high in 1990, this year’s
lineup will cover the largest geographic
area in the network’s history.
