Comedian Stuart to perform at Funny Bone

Aug. 25 through 29 at the Funny Bone.

What’s more exciting — perform
ing stand-up comedy at the Funny
Bone in Lincoln or acting alongside
Arnold Schwarzenegger in his latest
movie?
Compare how Jason Stuart, a
Holly wood, Calif., comedian playing
the Funny Bone until Sunday, reacts
to both, and it’s kind of hard to tell.
“Lincoln? Oh, I just love Lin
coln,” Stuart asserts during a tele
phone interview from California. “It’s
like being in Mayberry_I landed at
the airport and thought I was in some
one’s back yard.... I saw Goober and
Floyd and ...”
And Schwarzenegger?
“Hmmin... he’s very, very popu
lar. Yes, I guess I can say that.”
Stuart, a 31-year-old actor who
started doing stand-up comedy at his
manager’s request, said he doesn’t
know a whole heck of a lot about
“Kindergarten Cop,” the Sch
warzenegger movie he begins work
ing on next month.
“It’s about a kindergarten teacher
who goes undercover and shoots people
.... I don’t want to say very much
about my part, but I do a very funny
bit with a blow dryer.”
“Kindergarten Cop,” scheduled
for release in December, is not Stuart’s
first movie appearance. He also will
appear in “Eternity,” a movie star
ring Jon Voight, premiering next
month.
When he’s not doing stand-up
comedy or playing off-beat charac
ters on network shows (characters
like “Marty,” a tough nightclub owner
on NBC’s “Sunset Beat”), Stuart said
he likes to do a lot of charity work.
Stuart will perlorm on stage at the
Funny Bone, 808 P. St., through
Sunday.
