They went to a farm owned by Czech Americans and travelled to an Indian reservation. And they went on the Missouri river on water skis. In Nebraska, people asked the students where they were from and why they were here, the students said. “That couldn’t happen ^Czecho slovakia,” Slamova said. In Czechoslovakia, she said, people would stare at foreigners.
