NCAA Contirived from Page 13 make it past the second round be cause it has to play North Carolina. Tarheel coach Dean Smith is a much better coach than Billy Tubbs and will have a plan to shut down the Sooners. North Carolina’s doom will occur in the third round, where Arkansas’ quickness will prove to be too much. Second-seeded Purdue will meet third-seeded Georgetown in the third round and Purdue will win. Purdue is the only team in the regional that can match up inside with Georgetown. Arkansas will beat Purdue to ad vance to the Final Four. The Razor backs have a roster of fast athletes who can all play tough defense r another necessity for tournament success. The dark horse is North Carolina because of its tradition, excellent coaching and great players. Upset special: Kansas State over Xavier in the first round. Now, the Final Four predictions. Louisville will beat Georgia Tech. Louisville ha; a long history of sav ing its best games for the NCAA tournament and this year will add only to that history. Kansas will beat Arkansas for the other spot in the championship game. All the running Arkansas does during games will take its toll by the time it faces the deep Jayhawk bench. I still hold to my prediction that Kansas will take the championship. It has the most balance of any team in the tournament and, once again, a deep bench. On April 2, everyone gel ready to hear endless hours of “Rock Chalk Jayhawk” because Kansas will reign supreme. Nebraska wasted little time disposing of Lincoln City last weekend, as it used 15 points from Marie Palmer and eight from Brian Chaffin to post the victory. Palmer converted two trys, two conversions and a penalty kick, while Chaffin added two trys. Trys are worth four points in rugby, while penalty kicks are worth three.
