I'm sorry to say it, but those days
are gone. Nebraska’s string of 19
consecutive seasons of finishing among
the nation’s top 10 in either The
Associated Press or United Press Inter
national polls ended this year with the
drubbing at the hands of the Semino
les.
Nebraska remains a great program,
and will continue for many years to
have good teams. But unless changes
are made in the offensive scheme and
defensive secondary, the Huskers will
continue to be ranked higher than
they deserve.
After the game, Osborne said that
with a few more mistakes, the Husk
ers “could have been blown out.”
These are not the words of a coach
lies. ' . . .
And please, save the crap about
Osborne being the winningest active
coach in college football. What coach
couldn’t win at least 10 games a sea
son with Nebraska’s schedule?
I’m sure criticism like this will
earn countless letters and grumbles,
and rhetorical questions like ‘ ‘ Do you
think you could do any better than
Osborne does?”
Maybe, maybe not. But for over
SI00,000 a year, like Osborne cams,
I’d sure as hell try.

and move to Oklahoma.
What an interesting concept! I guess
if you don’t give your heart and soul
to the Huskcr football factory, you
forfeit your right to exist as a Ne
braska citizen.

STUDENT HEALTH AND ACCIDENT INSURANCE
Mid West National Life Insurance Company in Irving, Texas
provides UNL students and dependents with medical coverage de
signed specifically for them. ALL UNDERGRADUATE AND
GRADUATE STUDENTS WHO HAVE PAID THEIR UNIVER
SITY HEALTH CENTER FEES ARE ELIGIBLE FOR COVER
AGE UNDER THIS PLAN. Their dependents are eligible for cover
age although they must use community medical resources.
The insurance policy will pay 80% of the first $2,500 of reasonable
and customary expenses after a deductible has been met, and 100% of
the expenses above $2,500 up to a lifetime maximum of $50,000. For
treatment received at UNL Health Center, the deductible is waived and
covered expenses are paid at 100%. Refer to your insurance brochure
for additional benefits and covered expenses.
Open enrollment for Spring and Summer semesters begins
January 11,1990. The premium for coverage from 1/11/90 until 8/
24/90 will be $166.00 for student only. Your spouse would be an
additional $455. Add $199 for each child.
Semi-annual coverage from 2/24/90 till 8/24/90 will also be avail
able for $136.00 for student, spouses for an additional $367 and
children for $161 each. Each enrollment period is open for 45 days.
If you wish to be covered under this plan, you must fill out the
enrollment cards available by mail or from the Student Health Center.
Coverage becomes effective upon receipt of your payment.
