Devaney and the Nebraska Ath ene Department arc in the process of omplcting a deal with Sports Video ’reduction Inc. of Omaha to televise rames against Oklahoma and Okla Joma State via pay-per-view delayed broadcasts and televise the Missouri gamo live on pay-per-view. The two delayed games would be shown at 10:30 p.m. Saturday while the Missouri game is contingent on wnctner it is selected to be shown by the national networks. Dcvaney said he pursued the pay per-view option because he wants to learn if there is a statewide interest in pay-per-view cablecasting, to help make up lor lost revenue because of the NCAA television sanctions against Oklahoma and Oklahoma State, and because many Comhusker fans would not be able to sec three of the Husker’s top games this season were it not for pay-per-view. At Thursday’s practice, Nebraska football coach Tom Osborne said his team has been working more on its’ short passing game for this season. “We are just trying to get a little bit more prepared against the blitz. A couple times last year we got hurt by it so we are trying to do some things to counteract that,” Osborne said. Osborne said three of the four remaining walk-on scholarships will be given out after today’s closed scrimmage. Osborne also said he will discuss the book ‘‘Big Red Confidential: Inside Nebraska Football” for the first time at the press conference fol lowing today’s scrimmage. An advance copy of the book was sent to the Lincoln Joumal/Star. It allegedly did not contain many changes from the controversial gal ley proofs. The book goes on sale in bookstores Tuesday.
