Street dance adds Texas excitement

Reading over twenty promotion
reviews for the LcRoi Brothers has
led me to believe that the music in
dustry can only agree on three things
about this Texas band.
First, the LeRoi Brothers aren’t
brothers and no one is named LeRoi.
And everyone agrees that no one
can agree on the type of music erupt

ing from this group.
Bui most all critics do equate the
LeRoi Brothers with excitement.
The LeRoi Brothers’ style must
definitely be unique. When the musi
cal experts can’t decide whether this
band rocks, swings, bops or sways,
then the decision must be the listen
ers.
So grab your dancing shoes and
head for the KFMQ Haymarket Street
Dance Friday night, where the Kan
sas City Star promises, “only the
catatonic can keep their feet still.”
If you happened to be one of the
lucky 8,000 who wiggled through the
crowd towards the stage and onto the
dance “floor” at last year’s street
dance, then you most likely already
have your toes tapping.
But this year, the stomping ground
has been moved. Construction in the
Haymarket area has moved the party
down the street and around the cor
ner. Although dance-goers will be
able to hear the music for blocks, note
the official dance location, between
7th and 8th streets under the O Street
viaduct
This will be one of the few times
you can feel lucky about being
old(cr) bemuse only those 21 or older
will be admitted. Beer will be served
and ID’s will be checked.
This will the one and only chance
to party with the pros, Austin-stylc,
so be there Friday at 9 p.m. Unless tf
course you want to catch them again
at the Zoo bar on Saturday for $4.
