10th and Q streets, a major one

the property for other uses. The old
building was levelled and a me
tered parking lot is there now. But
Bullerman said there were other
reasons.
“It was partly the city and also
the location. The one on 10th was
out of the way and hard to get to
because of the one-way street and
the traffic, and there was not much
flarking. Plus the store was small
or as big as Pickles was getting,"
he said.
The new store is bigger and
closer to the university, specifically
the residence halls and greck
houses, Bullerman said.
Pickles now boasts six stores,
three in Lincoln and three in
Omaha. The business’ founders,
Rod Ferguson and Bill Hempel are
still in charge of all six stores,
Bullerman said.
Customers have responded well
to the new location. Those custom
ers that prefer the new Pickle’s to
other record stores in town cite two
main reasons, Bullerman said.

and two, they say that their main
problem with Twister’s is that they
never talk to you, they never help.
"We’fe told from the day we

Bijllerm^n said that the major
•^complaint against the new location
is the loss of theJ,atmosphere” that
the old location had.
> “The other store had an atmos
phere, it almost made you almost
kinda feel homey.”
“It’s like why you choose one
bar over another. You just like the
atmosphere," he said.
Contrary to spreading rumor,
the downtown Pickles has no
plans to relocate.
‘‘I asked them when this place
opened, is "this permanent, and
they said yes," he said.
Bullerman said that the massive
renovation it took to open the new
store was such an undertaking that
he couldn’t imagine them relocat
ing anytime soon.
He said the only plans that may
lie ahead involve expanding the
