Another scene, when the children were riding in the back of a police truck after being apprehended on the streets, there is a wonderful camera pan of Krishna looking out through the bars of the truck. Here we see how imprisoned all these street children are, how they arc put behind the bars of poverty and not allowed to be chil dren. The acting is a superb blend of non-professional child actors and actresses with professionals. In fact, it lends credibility to the realness of the characters and the real problem which exists in Bombay. The superb cast along with great direction will leave no question in anyone’s mind after viewing the movie -- Nair and company deserved the Camera D’Or and the Prix du Publique Awards the film received at the Cannes Film Festival. Opening for the film is Sally Cruishank’s “Face like a Frog. ’This enchanting film is a sort of adult version of “Sesame Street.’’ The crayon-colored animated characters wind and moJd their way through a fun-house. Filled with fairly innocent perversion (“I’m not wearing any underwear,’’ one char acter exclaims), the short film shows how people arc always tempted to do what they’re told not to - sometimes it’s a risk that may turn out good, sometimes bad. “Salaam Bombay” and “Face Like a Frog” will show Thursday through Sunday at the Sheldon Film Theater. Screening times are at 7 and 9:15 p.m. Matinees show at 12:45 and 3 p.m. on Saturdays and 2:30 and 4:45 p.m. on Sundays. I 475 I | 230 K\l Mon.-Sat. 11:00 a.m.-2 a.m. Sunday 11:00 a.m.-1 a.m. 16 oz.
