cemetery. The young caretaker at
the cemetery develops a preoccu
pation with her and begins to spy.
As the story unfolds the audience
learns, along with the caretaker,
that die mysterious woman has
been visiting the graves of persons
she had known in past incarna
tions.
Other plots, according to Dixon,
range from a documentary about
the Zoo Bar, to experimental films
which explore light and texture.
The super 8mm filmmaking
course at UNL and similar courses
around the country may be in jeop
ardy.
“There is a serious problem we
may have to face in years to come,”
Dixon said He said that there isn’t |
an official statement yet, but rumor
is spreading that the Kastman
Kodak company is planning to dis
continue production of super 8mm
film.
Dixon said the dial ihe biggest
market for the super 8mm format
has been home movies. I ie pointed
out that the home movie industry
has switched to video.
“There will be a huge outcry in
film schools around the country,"
Dixon said. “Super 8mm film has a
better picture quality than even 3/
4inch video . . . and video is not
frame accurate in editing."

He said that an absence of super
8mm would mean that beginning
filmmaking courses would no
longer be financially feasible for
students.
He also said that video and film
editing are “entirely different proc
esses" and adds that course work in

pare a student to work in an indus
try in which film is the chosen
