UNLive ’88, the 3rd annua!
Free Outdoor Music Fest will be
held Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. in the
Sheldon Sculpture Garden.
Featured performers include
the Jailbreakers, a rhythm and
blues band from die Omaha/Coun
cil Bluffs area; the Gulizia Broth
ers, a jazz ensemble from Omaha
and selections from the musical
Sweeney Todd.
The Music Fest is sponsored by
the Kimball/Lied Center for Per
forming Arts Committee. It is
being held to promote Kimball
Hall, the Lied Center for Perform
ing Arts and the Kimball Hall Se
ries.
“It’s to get students over around
Kimball and Sheldon so they know
where they’re at,” Jason Dean, co
chairman of the committee.
In previous years, the Music

If the weather fails to cooperate,
the Music rest will be held in tne
Centennial Ballroom in the Ne

Beaded's “Timcsweep” was per
formed with three horns; Dennis
Schneider on trumpet, Aden French
on French horn, and Vernon Forbes
on trombone. The piece begins with
almost fanfare, then mellows into a
more reflective mood. Schneider’s
trumpet was often dominate in the
piece.
More of Beaded’s work will be
performed during the Faculty Com
posers recital Nov. 17.

blended with each other, and sounded
like different aspects of one instru
ment.
Named al ter the laic John Moran,
the quintet consists of John Bailey,
flute; William McMullen, oboe;
Anthony Pasqualc, clarinet; Allen
French, French horn; and Gary
Echols, bassoon.
The quintet will play March 16 at
Kimball.
Harvey Hinshaw performed the
last three “Goldberg Variations” by
J.S. Bach on harpsichord Remember
what Lurch played on the old “Ad
dams Family”TV show?The music is
still spooky, yet quite charming.
Hinshaw’s recital is Feb. 9 at the
