another 200 University of Nebraska
Lincoln students, said Donald
Clifton, president of SRI.
Clifton said about 100 more UNL
students will be hired immediately
and another 100 students will be hired
“down the road.”
About 20C UNL students currently
work for SRI, he said.
Clifton said the primary job of
students at SRI is to call people and
ask survey questions about health,
finance and different associations.
“They are a great talent,” Clifton
said. “They oul-perform any other
research performers we have.”
Clifton said student employees are
valuable to SRI because they relate
well to people.
“They make people feel good
aoout answering uie questions
asked/’ Clifton said.
SRI, which has its lieadquarters in
Lincoln, conducts survey and inter
view research, and does selection and
development for associations and
companies on how to develop em
ployee growth, Clifton said.
As a result of the acquisition of the
Gallup Organization, Clifton said,
SRI will continue with its present
operations, but also will be able to do
additional survey and attitude re
search.
The Gallup Organization, which
has offices in Princeton, N.J., and
Lincoln, will be a subsidiary of SRI.
George and Alec Gallup will continue
to act as co-chairmen, Clifton said.
No financial details of the transac
tion were disclosed.
