Special bus services
to begin this weekend
The Lincoln Transportation Sys
tem will provide special bus service
for the Utah State football game this
weekend and for the Nebraska State
Fair, which begins this weekend.
A new service is the “Stadium
Special,” which will circle through
the downtown area every football
Saturday.
The buses will travel south on 11th
Street to K Street, east on K Street to
14th Street and north on 14 Street toR
Street.
Passengers will be able to stop off
at 13th and R streets. These buses will
run every 10 minutes from 9 a.m. to 5
p.m. Bus fare is 25 cents each way.
Shuttles also will be running from
the south side of the Devaney Sports
Center to the stadium beginning two
hours before kickoff. Bus fare for this
shuttle is 50 cents each way.
Buses originating from Southeast
Community College, 8800 O St., and
Holmes Lake, 70th and Van Dorn
streets, will begin running two hours
before kickoff with service every 15
minutes to the cast stadium. Bus fare
is $1 each way.
Buses will run from downtown to
the fairgrounds during the state fair
Sept. 2 through Sept. 11.
Shuttle buses will leave 11 th and O
streets every half hour between 9:15
a.m. and 10:15 p.m. for the fair
grounds. Return service is available
every half hour from 9:30 a.m. to
10:30 p.m. Regular LTS fares will
apply, and Iransfers and passports still
will be honored.
Students with current student
identification cards can ride the LTS
buses free until Sept. 10. This offer
includes stale fair shuttles because the
shuttles are part of the regular route.
The offer, however, does not apply on
the special football Saturday shuttles.
