Wagner, doctor of musical arts candidate at the UNL School of Music, will present a degree recital in Kimball Hall Fri day at 8 p.m. This free public recital will in clude a wide variety of style and content, ranging from the polished, elegant melodies of Henry Purcell to die emotional extremes of Gus tav Mahler. Works by Ravel and Charles Ives will also be featured. Wagner and his accompanist, Laura Ward Brooks, won the 1987 stale and regional National Asso ciation of Teachers of Singing Art ist Award Competition. * * * * * Three of the pioneers of early music study and performance will present a concert at the Sheldon Memorial Art Gallery Auditorium at 8p.m. Friday as part of the UNL Performing Arts Series.
