After another one of my 18-hour
days, it is a true pleasure to sit down
with my 22 Scorpion albums and
mash heads. After society has had its
run of me, Klaus Meine’s vocals
crack me into the twilight zone. Any
time another album is due out
shortly, there is gleeful anticipation
affecting my breathing and hearing.
Forget about the new upstarts such
as Celtic Frost. The Scorpions are
true homo sapiens, and they make
me feel proud to stammer and spit in
my apartment. To ruin only three
sets of speakers on Scorpions rec
ords must be some sort of world
record. At last count, my buddy
Bruno had ruined eight pairs of
speakers and is now reduced to rid
ing his sister’s Western Flyer.
But as we metalheads go, you
know we can’t get enough of the
stuff. Michael Schenker’s little bro,
Rudolf, still sets fire to my heart
with his awesome guitar playing.
It makes me feel good to get that
leather on and start airing it with all
the Scorpions’ standard-bearing
songs, which are too numerous to
mention. Anyway, after strapping
