Theatrix performs
Theatrix presents “No I Tu
Love” Dec. lOand 11 at 10:30p.m,
Dec. 12 at 5 and 10:30 p.m., and
Dec. 13 at 3 and 8 p.m. in the
Studio Theatre on the University
of Nebraska-Lincoln campus at
12th and R Streets.
No I Tu Love” is a unique
journey in dance, movement and
body sculpture. Six dancers from
the UNL dance department and the
Lincoln Contemporary Dance
Theatre will guide the audience
through an odyssey that studies the
human condition.
Choreographer Kent Lindemer
created the piece for the Theatre
Garage in Dallas last summer,
Lindemer is an advanced dance
and theater major who has danced
with companies in Iowa, Texas
arid, most recently, the Lincoln
Contemporary Dance Theatre.
Tickets arc $1 in advance and
$2 at the door. For reservations,
contact the Temple Building box
office from noon to 5 p.m. Monday
through Friday at 472-2073.
Opera honors 4
Four anniversaries will be cele
brated Saturday when the Texaco/
Metropolitan Opera Radio Net
work opens its new season with a
special prelude, including ex
cerpts from this year’s new pro
ductions, “II Trovatore,” “Das
Rheingold” and “Siegfried.”
The 1 p.m. broadcast can be
heard on KRNU (90.3 FM), the
radio station of the University of
Nebraska-Lincoln.
The four-hour broadcast will
commemorate the 100th anniver
sary of the birth of Lotte Lehmann,
the 50th anniversary of Zinka
Milanov’s debut at the Met, the
25th anniversary of the first per
formance of Richard Stauss’ “Ari
adne auf Naxos” and the 50th
anniversary of live broadcasts
from the Metropolitan Opera in
New York City.
Included in Saturday’s broad
cast will be excerpts from past
performances of “11 Trovatore”
featuring the voices of Leontyne
Price, Zinka Milanov, Bruce Cas
tagna, Carlo Bergonzi and Jussi
Bjoerling. Joan Sutherland and
Luciano Pavarotti, who are to
appear in this year’s “II Trova
tore,” will perform pieces from
“La Sonnambula” and “Emani.”
Excerpts from past performances
of “Das Rheingold” and
“Siegfried” will feature Kirsten .
Flagstad, Lauritz Melchior and
Friedrich Schorr.
