Performing pigs to roll at Adult Toy Show

One event can meet your entertain
ment needs during Thanksgiving
break: the first annual Adult Toy
Show at the Bob Devaney Sports
Center.
The Adult Toy Show is a produc
tion of Egan Enterprises Inc., the same
company that has produced the Boat,
Sport and Travel Show for 22 years
and the Home, Garden and Leisure
Living Show for 11 years.
Egan Enterprises is run by1 -others
Mike and Pat Egan. Pat also owns Pat
Egan insurance. Mike divides his time
between Egan Enterprises and Crazy
Cracker Fireworks.
Mike Egan said the “adult” in
Adult Toy Show docs not mean
“dirty.” In fact, Egan said, inquiries
from some East Coast firms that pro
duce risque novelties were turned
down. “Realizing where we’re at —
Lincoln — they’re not in the show,”
Egan said.
Instead, Egan said, the Adult Toy
Show is“kind of likea national show,”
with “a lot of items you wouldn’t sec
locally.”
The toy show spotlights gifts in all
price ranges. “Everything from 50
cents to $100,000,” Egan said. Items
come from all over the country.
He said the emphasis will be on
uniqueness. There’ll be “a lot of items
you wouldn’t sec locally,” Egan said.
Spas, computers and the new line
of ’88 Acura cars will be on display.

Boats and stereo equipment will also
be shown, and radio station KFMQ
will display a $5,500 Seeburg com
pact disc jukebox.
For Christmas ideas, there’ll be
Christmas trees trucked in from Cadil
lac, Mich., and a truckload of factory
overrun gift wrap for less than $1 a
roll.
A food area will feature local and
new vendors, with some giving free
samples, Egan said.
But the show’s highlight is Sharon
Ward’s Performing Pigs. These pork
ers arc proficient in barrel rolling, see
saw balancing, hurdle jumping and,
their specialty, the Hog Slide for Life.
Ward’s four stars are wild and
domestic crossbreed boars weighing
350-5(X) pounds each. All thchogsare
9 years old.
“It’s the only pig act in the world,”
Egan said.
The pigs will perform at 3:30 and
8:30p.m. Friday,at 2:30 and 8:30 p.m.
Saturday, and at 1:30 and 4 p.m.
Sunday.
Other entertainment includes an
old-time medicine show with real
cure-all snake oil.
An antique toy display, a palm
reader and a rubber-band shooting
gallery featuring a rubber-band Gat
tling gun are among the other attrac
tions.
All ^the entertainment is free, but
there is a charge for palm reading.
Toy show hours are Friday from
noon to 10 p.m., Saturday from 10
a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday from 11
a.m. to 6 p.m. Adult admission is $3,
but two-for-one coupons are available
at Lincoln businesses.
