Art Council at Wesleyan plans artist competiti m The Nebraska Wesleyan Art Council is sponsoring its third annual Nebraska Young Artist competition. The contest is open to any artist under 39 years of age as of Dec. 31,1987, who has lived in Nebraska for the past five years and is no longer a student. The winner, to be announced Jan. 1, will receive a $300 cash award given in honor of the late Helen Haggie, former cultural af fairs editor of the Lincoln Journal and member of the Nebraska Wesleyan Arts Council. The winning artist will be fea tured in a one-person show at the University Place Art Center Gal lery, 48th and Baldwin, Feb. 12 through March 9. Last year’s recipient was Kirk Pederson of Kearney.
