Matt Dillon star.
Oct. 9-11: “Parting Glances”
(United States, 1987). Black com
edy about gay yuppies, AIDS and life
set in Manhattan.
Oct. 16-18: “Swimming to Cam
bodia” (United States, 1987).
Director Jonathan Demme’s film star
ring Spalding Grey, who discusses the
making of “The Killing Fields.” This
film also will play at Sheldon this year.
Oct. 23-25: “No Surrender”
(Ireland, 1987). Comedy about
Catholics and Protestants in Ireland.
Nov. 6-8: “Letter to Brezhnev”
(Britain, 1986). Romantic comedy
about a working-class Liverpool woman
who falls in love iwth a Russian sailor.
Nov. 13-15: “UTU” (New Zea
land, 1984). Drama about colonial
Europeans and Maori natives in 19t,h

Tickets for all films are $1.50 for
general admission and $1 for UNO
faculty, staff, students and alumni with
ID cards. All films are Friday and Sat
urday nights at 7 and 9:30 p.m., and
Sundays at 4:30 and 7 p.m.
Bon Jovi cancels their
FarmAid III appearance
Heavy metal rock group Bon Jovi will
not be at FarmAid III on Sept. 19, des
pite some earlier reports that had them
listed for the concert.
A FarmAid volunteer said that the
group originally was scheduled for the
Sept. 27 concert date, but had prior
commitments for Sept. 19.
Also, an MCA records spokesperson
f
said the rock group Night Ranger’s Fri
day concert in Omaha has been canceled.
No reasons were given for the
cancellation.
Night Ranger last played in the area
Sept. 4, 1985, at Pershing Auditorium.
Bon Jovi opened for Ratt that same
fall at Pershing.
