Spring Meetings - April 6-17 Through the Summer Reading Course Program students can earn college credit over the summer months. To participate in the Summer Reading Program: . Attend a spring orientation meeting of the course(s) in which you are interested. Meet the instructor and receive a course syllabus. Register for the course(s) you wish to study during the summer. Enrollment is limited to 35. Registra tion begins April 20 and ends May 8. Ftudy independently over the summer. Attend the fall meetings (scheduled September 7-1 1) and complete the course work in September by ful filling the requirements specified by your instructor. Grades will be recorded in October. Guidelines for Approval Discuss your course selection with your advisor so you will be sure it fits into your degree program. For example: Arts & Sciences' students have a limit of 30 . hours of Summer Reading and correspondence hours that will apply toward a degree. Architecture students need written approval to register for a Summer Read ing Course. Check your college's requirements before registering for a Summer Reading Course. Only two reading courses can be taken in one summer. Any exception will require the written approval of your advisor andor the dean of your college. In residence requirement: Courses with an do not qualify as resident credit. Summer Reading Course hours will not count toward the requirement that "at least 30 of the last 36 hours of credit needed for the degree must be registered for and completed in residence." No SRC registrations accepted after that date. SPECIAL EVENING REGISTRATION Where: Room 271, Nebraska Center for Continuing Education When: Thursday, April 23, 5 :00 - 7 :00 p.m. Full payment of tuition is required at time of registration. Tuition: $49.00 per credit hour Course Materials: Be sure to obtain all needed books and supplies in May. Bookstores will carry the required materials under the Summer Reading Course number, so look for a SRC "x" designation. Grading Restrictions There will be no grades of "W" or T given for SRC "x" classes. The course work must be completed and graded by October 9, 1987 if you are to get credit for your 1987 Summer Reading Courses. If work is not completed and no drop is processed by August 28, a grade "F" will be recorded. There will be no option to extend this deadline or to reinstate your enrollment after the October 9, 1987 deadline.
