Wilson's was just one of several record-breaking performances by the Nebraska men's and women's track teams. The women racked up five national qualifying times and three invitational records. The men sported three national qualifying marks, two invitational records, two school records and one Bob Devaney Sports Center record. She edged out teammate Powell, who also qualified. Milling ran a 1:19.00, breaking the record of 1:19.50. Friday Karen Kruger broke an invita tional record and qualified for nationals by winning the long jump. Her jump of 20-8 34 bettered the 20-4 12 mark. Kruger outjumped USC all-American triple jumper Wendy Brown, who fin ished third. The next day Brown showed why she holds the U.S. record in the triple jump. She won the event with a jump of 43-6, breaking the sports center and invita tional records and qualifying for nationals. Teammate Yvette Bates finished second and Nebraska's Renita Robinson finished third. Friday, the men's winning two-mile relay quartet of Mike Herrell, Robert "Speedy" Gonzales, Terry Goods and Regis Humphrey ran a 7:27.85. They broke the school record of 7:31.3 and the invitational and sports center records of 7:30.44.
