The book will be distributed through Walden Bookstores. Profits from the book will be divided among the photographers, writers and staff. Barker said that the expedition is an excellent opportunity for young writers and photographers to be published in a high-quality publication. He said that it was conceivable that participants could earn as much through profits from the books as they spent on the expedition. The publishing effort will involve 32 travel writers, six underwater photo graphers and 62 outdoor photographers, allowing them to participate in a work shop environment to shoot and publish a book about exploration and adven ture in other parts of the world. Barker stressed that the expedition was not a glorified vacation. "The areas are sometimes rugged, exhausting and can be dangerous. But the concept of capturing on film and paper the reflec tions of 1 00 enthusiastic photographers and writers is most impressive," he said. This is the third such project spon sored by the National Institute for Exploration. Past projects have been to Kenya and Egypt, and future projects will be in Israel and Hong Kong. Selection is based on a pre-ap-plication form covering information on personal background and a written or photographic sample. Each group will fulfill a specific eight-day assignment during March 1987. Assignment groups will depart each Saturday from Miami throughout the project. No one from Nebraska has partici pated in past programs, but they are encouraged to apply. If interested, con tact Dr. Barry W. Barker, director, National Institute for Exploration, P.O.
