Basketball entries due Entries for the mens', womens' and co-rec pre season basketball tourna ment, scheduled to begin Friday, are due Tuesday before 5 p.m. at the Office of Campus Recreation, 1740 Vine St. There is no entry fee but there is a $10 forfeit fee for each team. The last day to receive forfeit fee refunds is June 17, 1987. Schedules for the weekend tourna ments will be available Thursday at 4 p.m. Play will begin Friday at 6 p.m. and the tournament will run through Saturday and Sunday if necessary. All games will be held at Mabel Lee Hall or the Mens' P.E. building. Separate mens, womens and co-rec tournaments will be held. The tournaments will be single or double elimination depending on the number of entrants. Rules concerning eligibility can be picked up at the Office of Campus Recreation. All participants must wear tennis, basketball or running shoes. Jerseys will be available for check-out on site. Officials will be provided by the Office of Campus Recreation. A team trophy for both men and women and intramural T-shirts will be awarded to the winning teams in each division. T-shirts also will be awarded to the first-place team in the co-rec division. Tip off is scheduled for 7:35 p.m. at the Bob Devaney Sports Center. The Cornhuskers are 0-1 after opening their season with a 109-101 loss to California-Irvine Friday night. Nebraska coach Danny Nee said he was pleased with the effort Nebraska showed, but he hopes to see improve ment tonight. "The concentration, the intensity level of the players was very good," Nee said. "We have to improve every Swimming relays to be held Sunday Nebraska's mens', womens' and co rec intramural swimming relays are scheduled for Sunday, Dec. 7 in the Mabel Lee Hall pool at 4 p.m. No advance entries are necessary, but par ticipants must complete an event card for each event they plan to enter before the relays begin. The pool will be open at 3:30 p.m. for warm-ups. Events will include the 100-yard medley relay, 200- and 400-yard freestyle relays, the 200-yard individual medley relay, the 200-yard co-rec open relay, the 100-yard co-rec tandem relay, the 200-yard co-rec sweatshirt relay (for eight people) and the 100-yard freestyle relay. Four participants from an organiza tion will be considered a team in order to award all-university points. Winners will be determined by times. Intramural T-shirts will be awarded to the first-place finishers in each event. A trophy will be presented to the first-place teams in the mens and womens divisions. The returning starters arc 6-4 jun ior guard Anthony Taylor, 6-4 junior guard Rick Osborne, 6-6 senior for ward Kenny Sprague and 6-7 junior forward Keith Balderston. All four players averaged more than 8 points a game last year, with Taylor leading the way with 17 points a game. Sprague is the leading returning rebounder. He pulled down close to eight rebounds a game last season.
