was very happy with their performance."
The team title was won by Colorado
with 33 points, while Kansas State fin
ished second with 43 points and
Nebraska ended with 67 points. Okla
homa State, the 1986 Big Eight cham
pion, didn't qualify for the NCAA meet
because only three OSU runners com
peted. Their leading runner, Christine
McMiken, didn't run because of a
pulled groin muscle.
The NCAA Cross-Country Champion
ships will be Monday in Tucson, Ariz.
Nebraska women's volleyball team
finished second behind top-ranked
Pacific last weekend at the Wendy's
Classic in Stockton, Calif.
Nebraska finished M in the tour
nament. In their first game Saturday
night, the Cornhuskers defeated No. 5
UCLA, 15-11, 15-4, 15-9. Enid Schone
wise led the Huskers with 12 kills and
two service aces.
In Nebraska's second game Sunday
night, the Huskers lost to Pacific in
three straight sets, 15-8, 15-11, 15-12.
Schonewise led the Huskers in kills
with 13, while Kathie DeBoer added
nine kills and two service aces.
Sophomore Lori Endicott and senior
Tisha Delaney were named to the all
tournament team. Endicott had 18 digs
and 2 blocks against Pacific.
