Creighton baseball coach Jim Hendry
is happy with how his team has been
playing.
"The last few weeks we have been
playing well," Hendry said. "Up until
then, we were in a slump. But last week
we played well, and hopefully we're
getting better at the right time of the
season."
Part of the good was seen last week
against the Huskers. Last Wednesday
Nebraska won the first game of a two
game series, 5-4, then dropped the
second game Thursday, 6-5.
Nebraska will travel to Creighton on
Wednesday with a 28 17 record. The
Bluejays, who won three of four from
Bradley, come into the games at 31-21-1.
Hendry said he is happy with his
team's performances against both the
Cornhuskers and the Braves.

needed to play well to get back on
track because we needed to get going
again," he said. "We had some guys
throw well that had been struggling,
and we got a lot of confidence back."
The Bluejays most likely will go with
pitchers Shaun Daly in the first game
and Dave Hartnet in the second of the
twilight doubleheader.
Daly is 4-1 with a 5.70 ERA, while
Hartnet has a losing record, 3-5.
The Bluejays' offense will be led by
senior shortstop Elvis Dominguez. He
is hitting .395, which leads the team,
with eight homers and 36 RBIs.
Dominguez is joined by catcher Mike
Barbato and centerfielder Bill Meier.
Barbato, a sophomore, is hitting .360
with 13 homeruns and 56 RBIs. Meier
leads the team in RBIs with 57 and
shares the lead in homeruns with
Barbato, hitting .333.
The games will be at Rosenblatt
Stadium at 5 p.m. The first game will be
a regular nine-inning game. The second
will consist of seven.
