Entertaining Iron wn t eality By Geoff Goodwin Staff Reporter Arab punks shoot down a U.S. F-10 and put the pilot on trial. The I'nited States, a helpless giant, can only sit on the sidelines and attempt to negotiate his release. This part, at least, of "Iron Eagle" (currently showing at the Plaza Four) is believable. Basically, "Iron Eagle" falls into the Rambo-Rocky IV mode, i.e. let's wave the flag and kick some ass. Audiences eat this kind of stuff up. It's easy to see why. Movies have always given us what we can't have in real life, whether it's love or revenge, and "Iron Eagle" has plenty of the lat ter. Doug and Chappy succeed in their mission. We'd like to do the same thing to those "damn Libyans." The danger in all of this is that peo ple will confuse real life with the movies. People see a bunch of teenagers r 'jx .
